===============

There is no competition at WFD that weekend so come along, represent Balmain and compete on a synthetic track. Send any questions to info@balmainlac.org.au

Zone Championships are conducted in each of the 24 Zones throughout NSW. Balmain is in the Inner City Zone along with Eastern Suburbs, South Eastern, Randwick-Botany, Canterbury, Inner West and Tiger Wests.

Event entry is by athlete application. All U7-U11 athletes can compete in up to 4 events. Balmain can only enter 5 athletes in any U7-U11 event. There is no limit on the number of athletes that can compete in U12-U17 events. U12-U17 athletes are requested to enter 6 events.

Note for U7 to U11 athletes: We anticipate an over-subscription of entries in some events. Where more athletes apply than available places, selection will be at the discretion of the Championships Sub-Committee (considering amongst other things athlete ranking, consistency of performance and attendance at Saturday Club competitions). The Committee will try its best to find an event for any interested athlete.

An online Zone Entry Form will be sent by email and posted on our socials in November. All Balmain athletes, in the U7-U17 age groups, are able to participate if they submit an application.

The first 6 placegetters in our Zone, within the U8-U17 age groups, automatically progress to the Regional Championships, along with the next 4 best qualifiers across the combined Inner City and Southern Metropolitan Zones. Note that U7 athletes compete at Zones only; U8 can qualify to compete at Regional, but do not progress to State; U9-U17 compete at Zone, can qualify for Regional and then qualify for State.

The parents of all competing athletes MUST commit to undertaking a rostered duty at the Zone Championship. The event cannot take place without the help of parents and carers.
