State Relay Championships

The State Relay Championships is the largest event on the LANSW calendar. The championships are comprised entirely of relay events, both track and field, with either three (field) or four (track) athletes competing in each relay event. This year the Championships will take place on Saturday 12 November 2022 (for U8 to U11 age groups) and Sunday 13 November 2022 (for U12 to U17 age groups) at the Sydney Olympic Athletics Centre (SOPAC) Homebush.  Here is the link to the 2022 State Relays Program.

Relay teams will be determined by the BLAC Championship Committee. Selection will take into account athlete rankings, consistency of performance and attendance at Saturday morning competitions.

Here is the final timetable issued by LANSW - 2022 State Relays Program.

There are compulsory training sessions for all track teams in the weeks prior to this event. A training timetable will be shared here closer to the event.

Parent assistance on the applicable day of the State Relay Championships is mandatory and a roster will be organised once athletes are selected.

Club uniform MUST be worn with the age patch, sponsor (Coles) patch and registration number on the front of the uniform. LANSW officials check uniform at marshalling.

Performances in each of the field events are allocated points based on the LANSW Multi-Event pointscore system. The performances of each of the three athletes in a team are added together to determine final results. Teams will only be given a final placing in the championships if all three athletes compete.
