Registrations for the 2022/2023 season are now open. You can access the registration form via the LANSW website - click here. 

​(As at 28 September) We have 930 athletes registered. The following measures are in place to ensure a fun and safe environment for all our athletes, families and officials:

• Due to overwhelming demand, the Tots (4 year olds), U6 Boys, U7 Girls, U7 Boys, U8 Girls, U8 Boys, U9 Girls, U9 Boys, U10 Boys, U11 Boys and U12 Girls are at maximum capacity and are now closed. 
• Athletes on our waiting list may be invited to join an age group in October or January, at the discretion of the Club Committee.
• Anyone who attempts to register an athlete in a closed age group by paying the LANSW fee component will have their payment refunded by LANSW, less an administration fee.

We look forward to seeing everyone for our 51st season at Waterfront Drive Oval, Callan Park as our usual venue at King George Oval is being upgraded. A Junior Intro Day for new athletes in U6 to U8s was held on Saturday 17 September from 8.30-10am. All athletes start competition on Saturday 24 September at 8.15am. 

• New athletes must bring a proof of age document (including passport, birth certificate or immunisation history). A photo on a digital device is acceptable.
• Before picking up your registration pack, make sure you’ve signed up for a canteen or BBQ duty - Canteen Duty Sign Up. Each family must volunteer an adult for Canteen duty at least once over the season. Packs will not be issued until you have signed up for Canteen Duty.

General registration information

An early bird fee of $150 will apply from 1 to 15 August. From 16 August, the registration fee will be $175.

• Note that many of our younger age groups (including 4 year old Tots/Tiger Cubs program, U6 to U10) fill up quickly and close before the start of the season. 
• All age groups will compete on a Saturday morning from 8.15am.
• A registration cap of 50 athletes per age group will apply.
• Our Tots program is for 4 year olds only.

• Our usual venue, King George Oval, is getting a much needed upgrade this season. For the 2022/23 season we will be meeting at Waterfront Drive Oval, Callan Park.

We will endeavour to minimise the impact of this relocation on our Saturday morning competition program and expect that all the same events will be offered. There will need to be adjustments made. For example, the Main Oval Track will be 370m in length. All track events will be run with changes to the starting line. Maximum age group capacity and waiting lists 

The Balmain Little Athletics Committee is concerned about the health and safety of all athletes and the level of enjoyment for each child and parent/caregiver in large groups of athletes. As a result, age groups are closed when the number of registered athletes reaches 50.

After an age group is closed, we open a waiting list. These lists are maintained until mid-December or closed when the number of athletes on the waiting list reaches 20. Athletes may be invited to register at a reduced registration fee in January (mid season). This is at the discretion of the Balmain Little Athletics Committee. Please be aware that all members of the Committee are volunteers, as are all our age managers.

Athletics is a summer sport with the season running from September to March. Registration usually opens in early August. To keep up to date with the Club, follow us on Facebook and Instagram.
